Dunas Golf Comporta
After a few years of construction, Comporta Dunas open the doors in 2023 and it present itself as one of the best places for golf in Europe. David McLay-Kidd is the architect of this ambitious project which is an hour away from the Portuguese capital and on the shore of the Sado Estuary, in the Comporta area, between Pego beach and the village of Carvalhal. Among other projects completed and acclaimed in Scotland, his homeland, the Comporta Dunes is the first course in Continental Europe.
Terras da Comporta Dunes Course
David McLay-Kidd’s new links golf course is to be opened at the resort of Terras da Comporta in southern Portugal, which is predicted to become one of the best golfing locations in Europe for tourists. Dunas Golf Comporta will be one of the new 18-hole courses and will belong in the championship of the new luxury resort in the lands of Comporta. The Dunes Course will be joined by the Torre Course, a collaboration between Masters champions José Maria Olazabal and Sergio Garcia. Thus Terras da comporta is divided in two parts: Dunas and Torre. Dunas with about 1 hectare of land in the municipality of Grândola and Torre with 365 hectares of land already in the next parish, Alcácer do Sal and will host the Olazabal and Garcia fields.The dunes course will feature villas, residential houses or tourist accommodation. Will be the first international golf academy in Portugal.
Not forgetting the offer of some activities such as horseback riding or water sports like sailing that will be possible to obtain in this project, facilitating the stay of those who will use the space.
