A new hotel in a dream setting
Hotel Quinta da Comporta is the newest hotel in Comporta, Portugal. It opened its doors to the public in May 2019. Located in the village of Carvalhal, it faces wonderful rice fields, while being close to the shops, restaurants and beaches of Carvalhal and Pego.
Hotel Quinta da Comporta is a sustainable real estate project by the famous Portuguese architect Miguel Câncio Martins. He wished here to pay tribute to Comporta‘s rich cultural heritage. The hotel was built with the architect’s love and attachment to this region.
The 61 rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished in the bohemian style typical of the region. The hotel Quinta da Comporta also has a magnificent overflow pool facing the Carvalhal rice fields, a co-working cabin, meeting room and a cosy cinema lounge. The atmosphere is serene and conducive to rest, meditation, and in agreement with the surrounding environment.
A rustic and minimalist decoration
The design of the hotel Quinta da Comporta is a delicious blend of rustic charm and contemporary minimalism. The materials used are natural and have a low impact on the environment. The woods are bleached in the sun, the furniture and accessories are adorned with warm sand colours and the bed linen and textiles are natural.
Prestigious awards
This Comporta hotel, and wellness centre, has already been named as “one of the most exciting hotel openings” in 2019 by Forbes. He also won the coveted prize for the best international escapade 2019 by Condé Nast.
A sustainable construction project
The main objective of the architect Miguel Câncio Martins was to create an establishment that fits naturally into its environment, with the lowest possible impact on the nature and the landscapes that surround it. The use of solar panels creates sustainable electricity, the implementation of treatment processes allows the reuse of waste water in gardens, the exclusive use of bicycles and electric strollers in the hotel reduces toxic emissions and mosquitoes are far away with natural methods.
Accommodation
The hotel’s 61 units consist of villas, suites and rooms. The suites and villas with swimming pool are particularly suitable for family holidays with children and benefit from the services of a butler. The decoration, a chic bohemian style, revisits Portuguese classics (pottery, basketry…) with a touch of modernity.
The restaurant of Quinta da Comporta
The bar-restaurant area offers a splendid view of the Comporta rice fields. Chef João Sousa creates a Mediterranean and international cuisine, made up of fresh, natural and regional products. The dishes are original and very tasty. An experience not to be missed!
The cocktail bar
Here, the shimmering colours of the rice fields inspire a selection of cocktails and drinks that capture the freshness and characteristic aromas of Comporta. The ingredients are harvested in their organic garden every day. The bar is equipped with an indoor lounge and an outdoor terrace facing nature.
The Oryza spa
Spa Oryza offers a selection of therapeutic rituals that balance and restore energies, beauty workshops, as well as yoga and meditation. It is also equipped with a hammam and an indoor swimming pool.
The activities
