Where to stay in Comporta ?

For a break during a holiday in Lisbon or for a longer stay, the region of Comporta is an idyllic refuge in Portugal.
Between the ocean, sand dunes, pine forests and rice fields as far as the eye can see, one never tires of contemplating the wild nature of this unusual place. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and we take the time to chat in the morning on the café terraces over our “bica-pastel”, our coffee and local custard tart. Later in the day, we have lunch with the sand between our toes and then while away the time on the beach watching the surfers, until the sun goes down.

Where to stay in Comporta: rental of houses in Comporta

The best way to enjoy Comporta and its quiet atmosphere is to live as a local, renting a typical house in the region. Inspired by fishermen’s huts, these “casas da Comporta” are made of weathered timbers with thatched roofs. Very often located in the heart of the countryside, the villas in Comporta which overlook the paddy fields are the most popular because they offer a breathtaking view. When the rice fields are “in water” or covered with young green shoots, you would think you had been transported to Bali.

Quinta da Comporta is a sustainable construction project conceived and designed by the famous Portuguese architect Miguel Câncio Martins. Here, he has created a tribute to Comporta’s sublime cultural heritage. The hotel was built with the architect’s love and reflects his attachment to this region.
The seventy-three bedrooms are spacious and tastefully furnished. The suites and villas with swimming pool are cosy havens that can accommodate families.
